Hi there,

I'm working with HISTORY (formerly known as The History Channel) in the UK and wanted to let you know about a new TV series beginning this week (Mon 6th). Collected under the title of Where Were You When...? the programs cover a range of world-changing historical events including the fall of the Berlin Wall, the attack on the World Trade Center and the deaths of John Lennon and President Kennedy (to name a few). So many were affected by these key moments and we would like to use this program as an opportunity to reach out and start a conversation between the many people whose lives were changed by what happened.

If you feel you'd like to, we'd love to hear where you were when you first heard of any of these events. What thoughts and images stood out in your mind? How did you react? What ongoing impact do you still experience today?

If you'd also like to share your impressions and memories related to the series or talk about what you felt about the documentaries, the series starts tonight on HISTORY (Sky 259 & Virgin 234) at 10pm. For more information, visit http://goo.gl/v9d8d

Thanks for your time :-)

Edit: The link above is a shortened version of ( http://www.history.co.uk/shows/where-were-you-when/about.html)

That link looks suspect.

We're a cynical old crowd here on allempires. You'll need to provide evidence of who you are. Preferably with your credit card details and secret passwords. Then I'll tell you were I was on 9/11.

Want to bet very few of you were around in 1973 much less 1963 so whatever listing is envisioned covers events whose implications are either nil or have yet to be determined. Anyway, that program can hardly be called original since in the early days of television, Walter Cronkite (The Most Trusted Man in America by 1967) hosted a program called You Are There from 1953 through 1957.

Thanks. Problem with shortened links is that you don't know exactly where they lead.
