Sisi appears to be won recent elections in Egypt with 91.8 percent. Obviously he is very succesful LOL Initially I was about to mention this briefly at mead hall but I thought heavily politised trolls, propagandists and such could just invade the forum.

But don't we have to worry when a candidate gets such a high proportion of the vote?

I smell another scandal and more unrest on the way.
It's not that I was born in Ireland,

Not at all! Many fair leaders such as Saddam, Assad, Stalin (and many others) won by such margins. Their people love them so much apparently LOL

If todays newspaper is correct, his vote has gone up to 96.4%.

I suppose it's a little hard to not smile on command with a loaded gun at your head.

I feel very sorry for the 3.6% who voted against him.Wink

An excellent point, and it rather obviates what I said in the OP, more trouble can be expected.

%45 turnout still may hand out some legitimacy but many questioning reliability of even that figure as well.

45% is no way representative of the population, and I would still question the reported 96%+ vote.
