Ouch  That black eye is the result of a fight I had with moderators in another history forum.  Before I invest myself in a new forum I want to know if the moderators here are totally opposed to discussing what Prussians may have to do with Military Industrial Complex and changes in the US, namely the US adopted the German model of bureaucracy and their model of education?  There are social, economic and political ramifications to this and if the moderators here want to deny this, I am gone, I have zero interest in arguing with hostile people.  I have researched the subject for years and I am working on a book.  I sincerely want feed back from informed people, but have no desire to force myself on anyone.  Let me to be clear, I do not want to fight with hostile people.  So should stay or leave now?

Hi Carol,
Sorry to see the black eye. You are encouraged to start posting, your perspective will be treated as valid. We do disagree a bit here, which is kind of fun so I hope you are ok with a difference of opinion but hopes are to grow this community. Welcome Carol, looking forward to reading your posts. Smile

Thank you for your courteous reply. You helped me more comfortable.

I am blown away by the high quality of post so far.  As I said in the thread I started, I am in a bit of shock by the high quality of the post.

Sure I will have a beer too.  I am having a wonderful time here.  I hope this continues.

LOL  My memory is bad so I am using my own name and hopefully I won't forget it.  But my preferred internet name is Athena.  Is there any chance that I could use the name Athena?  Or could I switch to the name Number 5?  Number 5 is the name of the robot in Short Circuit and I just thought of that while replying in a different thread.  I love getting information as much as Number 5.

There's no problem with using Athena, but if you wanted to change to No 5, you would need to re-register under that name, and, you can only use one identity on this forum. Trying to use more than one would automatically reject both.

Why not have two beers?Wink

Oh wow, I have my old user name.  This is important to me.  Thank you.

It is my understanding Athena is the goddess who taught men how to govern themselves.  It has been my life purpose to raise awareness of the need to educate for democracy so I like using her name.

We know her as our Statue of Liberty, Lady of Justice, and the Spirit of America who brandishes a sword in a mural in the Capital Building.  That is Athens' goddess of liberty and justice and the defense of those who stand for liberty and justice.
