Hello all...

..i am hoping some of the more IT literate forum members might come to my aid...

..i have been baffled by a recurring problem i have with the spacing format in the footnote section of my Word documents..i do not require any form of line spacing between each footnote as see below from note 1 to 4....however, there are times when gaps are left as in between note 4 and 5...when ever i try to close this gap using the cursor and delete button, i get the message "this is not a valid action for footnotes"....i do not understand why it does this in some places but not in others, i really need to have these gaps closed to ensure confromity..please, if anybody has the solution, i would be very grateful if you could pass on your advice.....

thanks in advance....AoO....

Select the text u wish to change, right click, select 'paragraph' and choose the appropriate line spacing and 'before' and 'after' space.

Hope that helps, mate.

Or instead of pressing 'delete' from the line before, place the cusror on the offending line and try pushing 'backspace'.

I have had this problem before myself! And this was the remedy IIRC.
