Welcome.

I am glad your President won re-election.  I hope your government and ours can work together.  Heck, these days I am hoping that our government will work at all!

I heard about "Raisi" in the news a little, it generally didn't sound positive, although I don't know enough of Iranian politics to really have an informed opinion.  I think it is okay to have a friendly opinion on foreign candidates (or candidates of other states or cities), but as just a plain citizen one should recognize that one's knowledge is rather shallow and not well informed.  Therefore, it is just an opinion and not knowledge.  But, no I didn't like how Raisi sounded, your current President has done something in his term of office with the nuclear treaty.  It would seem best to stick with that and for the US to start working more with him.

Our President Trump is also a populist and a rabble rouser, I did not vote for him, but because he is increasingly in trouble at home, he may try to do something on the international front.  It is often the hardliners that can more easily do peace concessions, because people won't believe that they are making concessions out of softness or weakness.  For example, Nixon, anti-Communist from the McCarthy era, opened up Communist China.  Reagan, who started off talking about the evil-empire (USSR), found a partner to work with in Gorbachev.  I don't like Donald Trump, but being stuck with him for now, I hope for the best.
I hope you are well.
John
